Steve Harvey says Black people need to reespect the office of the President of the United States, thus Donald Trump. Yeah okay, Steve.
Harvey, who met with Agent Orange at Trump Tower and was thoroughly slandered for his inadvertent comedy routine, which included him saying he was on the job of solving Chicago and Detroit’s gun violence problems, offered his advice on his radio show.
Reports The Root:
“The problem with all this [criticism of Trump] is, is that there is an office in this country called the ‘president,’ and you have to respect the office,” Harvey said. “You really do. Whether you want to or not. You have to respect the office. They got laws.”
Respect the office?
How about Trump not disrespect an esteemed Black reporter by asking her to set up a meeting with the Congressional Black Caucus as if she’s a secretary?
How about Trump not falsely accuse a legitimate President like Barack Obama of tapping his phone lines?
How about Trump’s Housing Secretary, fellow House Negro Uncle Ben Carson, not say slaves were “immigrants”?
How about Trump do anything that even slightly makes it seems like he respects Black people, and just maybe they will return the favor.
Until then, Steve Harvey and Donald Trump can kick all the rocks.
