Watch Migos Ad-lib Steph Curry Highlights On Sportscenter [VIDEO]

http://ift.tt/eA8V8J

Media darlings Migos visited ESPN’s Sportscenter and brought the culture with them.

The Atlanta trio chopped it up with Cari Champion over an array topics ranging from how their hometown Falcons blew the Super Bowl to breaking down what “Bad & Boujee” means in the sports world.

But the highlight came when the always down-to-entertain group was asked to do some ad-libs over highlights of the Steph Curry versus James Harden match-up from Tuesday night.

Another funny moment came when Offset, Takeoff and Quavo corrected Champion and the show’s producers on who created the dab. When Champion mentioned the dab phenomenon of 2015, she added that Migos made it popular but didn’t invent it. To that Quavo simply said “you’re wrong.”

NFL Star Martellus Bennett Drops I’m Not A Rapper But Some Of Friends Are EP [STREAM]

http://ift.tt/eA8V8J

Super Bowl Champion Martellus Bennett is spending his offseason recording rap music.

The former New England Patriot, now Green Bay Packer, just dropped a five-song EP titled I’m Not A Rapper But Some Of My Friends Are.

Bennett describes the project in his Soundcloud profile saying:

“I am not a rapper but some of my friends are. It was just me and some of my friends hanging out in the studio making music for fun and this is what came out of it. Pretty cool to have so many talented friends and be able to create with them at a high level. I am on a mission to express my creativity in as many ways as possible in 2017, this is a part of my creative journey. Enjoy.”

The EP heavily features rappers MatchBoxTony and David Allen Pope with Low Down, Franchise Tief and Shaud Money all appearing on the final track.

As far as how this project sounds, on a scale of rapping athletes ranging from Damien Lillard to Roy Jones, Jr., this leans more towards Lillard. Bennett actually sounds pretty comfortable on the mic. Probably because he actually sticks to themes that mean something to him, like eating healthy as he demonstrates on “Whole Foods.” The project is worth a listen. Check it out below.

http://ift.tt/eA8V8J

Mary J. Blige has a new album, Strength of a Woman, on the way. That also means we’ll be getting her side of the story when it comes to her divorce from Kendu Isaacs

Speaking to Power 105.1’s Angie Martinez, Mary spilled the tea on her soon to be ex-husband’s cheating ways.

“The overwhelming disrespect, you’re too familiar, you’re way too familiar you’re disrespecting me and I know, I can sense that I’m not what you want anymore,” said Mary when asked what made her decide to end her marriage after 16 years. “You start to realize that this man doesn’t want you and he’s just gone all the time and you’re by yourself in the relationship.”

Isaacs allegedly asking her why she didn’t cook, when she never cooked, and other pettiness led her to start investigating.

She added, “You start to realize that this man doesn’t want you and he’s just gone all the time and you’re by yourself in the relationship. When you realize you’re by yourself and you’re just suffering through it, now it’s time to do some investigating.”

Mary said she got her “fulll proof” in the preview below.

The full show airs today (March 30) around 4pm on Power 105.1 or hereStrength of a Woman is out April 28.

Freddie Gibbs Calls Out Logic For Having Similar Cover Art, “Blatantly Jocking My Sh*t” [VIDEO]

http://instagr.am/p/BRTjW1QDats/media/?size=l

Freddie Gibbs sees a lot of similarity between he and Logic’s latest cover art and promotion and he’s not feeling it.

Gibbs called out Logic on Instagram by tagging him in a video accusing him of “jocking my sh*t.” Earlier this month Gibbs released images and videos promoting his upcoming album You Only Live 2wice. It is inspired by ancient Europan style paintings and an accompanying video featured the kind of music you’d expect to hear in a gallery.

Instagram Photo

Logic recently dropped a similar video for his upcoming project.

Yes, both clips and covers do look similar. But did Logic steal the idea?

The artist commissioned to paint Logic’s cover, Sam Spratt, posted a story explaining the inspiration. He says that Logic called him months ago while he was in Paris visiting the Louvre and told him he wanted his cover to look like “The Wedding At Cana.” He also stated on Twitter that he’d been working on the painting for six months.

Could this be an instance of “great minds think alike” or does Gibbs just sound like a guy who just got out of jail?

WATCH: Rihanna Played Marion Crane On Bates Motel With A Twist

http://ift.tt/eA8V8J

Is “actress” the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Rihanna? No matter, because the Bajan Pop star portrayed Marion Crane (first seen in the OG Psycho film) in the final season of A&E’s Bates Motel.

By now you should be aware that Marion Crane caught the murder fade in the original film. But was that her fate this go around?

SPOILERS AHEAD

Reports The Grio:

When the shower scene kicked off, it looked like we were going to get the Psycho murder scene that made Marion Crane famous, complete with the character of Norman watching her shower through a peephole. As the suspense built, Marion thought she heard a sound outside, but then the scene changed from its Psycho counterpart.

Deciding she’d had enough of this creepy place, Rihanna‘s Marion stepped out of the shower and declared, “Screw this s - - t,” before leaving, proving once again that Rihanna makes everything that much better when she’s a part of it.

But fans still got a shower stabbing scene, just not the one they were expecting. Norman ended up confronting Marion’s cheating boyfriend, Sam, and stabbing him to death in the shower, complete with the blood on the tiles as well as the shot of Sam’s unmoving hand.

But in Bates Motel, things ended a bit differently after Rihanna hops in the shower.

New BMF?: Detroit’s BMB Records Under Federal Investigation For Drug Money Laundering

http://instagr.am/p/BSNY3xSAfT1/media/?size=l

Independent record label BMB Records is in the crosshairs of the FBI and DEA as the label’s CEO is suspected of being one of the biggest heroin dealer in the Midwest.

Detroit News reports that Brian “Peanut” Brown has been under investigation for years, although he has not been charged with a crime, yet. The feds suspect that Brown has built a fortune slanging a potent brand of heroin that is laced with fentanyl, a substance doctors are blaming for the countries current addiction crisis.

Instagram Photo

Brown is known around Detroit as a “hood hero” who came home from a 10-year prison bid in 2010 and launched BMB Records which has released albums with Ray J, Charli Baltimore and Empire‘s Bre-Z. He is also the author of a self-help book titled Living For The Sacrifice: A Hood Hero’s Guide To Success.

There is currently a billboard in Detroit promoting the project.

Drugs, record label, billboards, Detroit. This sounds very familiar to another three-lettered organization that went down in flames ten years ago: BMF.

Detroit News has a sprawling story on the investigation that has already involved multiple drug raids and even allegations of abuse from Charli Baltimore. You can read it here.

SALTY: OG Aunt Viv Janet Hubert Calls Alfonso Ribeiro A “Media Hoe”

http://instagr.am/p/BSOWt17FbOb/media/?size=l

We called it. Actress Janet Hubert, aka the Original Aunt Viv, threw all types of shade at the recent reunion of the cast of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air

Alfonso Ribeiro shared a pic of everyone, save for Hubert and the late James Avery aka Uncle Phil, during a get together in Malibu.

Hubert took to her Facebook page to comment, and the salt was flowing.

“The media hoe Alphonso Ribero [sic] has posted his so called reunion photo . . . He was always the ass wipe for Will [Smith],” said Hubert on Facebook per Page Six. “There will never be a true reunion.”

Damn, if that’s how you treat a man for posting a picture, don’t ever expect an invite anyway.

But alas, this shouldn’t come as a surprise. She deleted the post, but this is the Internets….

TV Exec Stephen Hill, Creator Of 106 & Park And BET Awards, Steps Down

http://ift.tt/eA8V8J

Long-time programming president Stephen Hill has announced that he will be leaving BET to “just be.”

Hill’s last day was today, Wednesday, March 29.

Hill joined the network in the late 90s and worked his way up to head of programming in 2014. BET chairman and CEO Debra Lee credits him as the man who helped create some of network’s most popular shows including 106 & Park, BET Awards, BET Hip-Hop Awards, Real Husbands of Hollywood and The New Edition Story. Hill is the man who was pretty much responsible for every BET Awards tribute that Black folks demanded anytime an iconic artist like Prince or Michael Jackson died. Prior to Hill’s arrival, BET had little to no live television or real time capabilities. During his tenure live television and social media became keys to the brand’s success.

His departure comes at a funny time seeing as how The New Edition Story was well-received earlier this year while the BET Awards continued to garner big ratings. Shake-ups were expected at BET’s parent company VIACOM when new management took over, but Hill’s stepping down comes out of left field.

Hill rode for the BET brand up to his last day on the job as he was promoting new shows The Quad and Rebel on social media as of yesterday. He informed his staffers and the rest of the world via a memo that Variety has obtained.

It reads:

My first morning at BET was the day after Roger Troutman died. WKYS, WPGC and WHUR were all full with the music of Zapp and as I drove the car (that I still own) down New York Avenue in DC towards the BET Complex, I thought to myself “we’ll need to get the details and some footage quickly so that we can get something on the air today about Roger.”

Immediately after orientation, I began searching out the people that could make it possible. But it turns out it was not possible. Due to the shoot schedule for the video shows, the edit time, and the way that Master Control was set up, the quickest anything could be turned around was one week. It was unimaginable to folks there then that BET could react to anything in real time. Crestfallen, I slumped in my way-too-big chair and gazed out at the McDonald’s across the street from my NetOps office; determined that the paradigm shift.

Eighteen months later, we were live daily on BET and would stay that way for the next 14 years. What was previously unimaginable had been made real. This Friday, 6,549 days after I took my first step through the doors of BET, I will walk my last one out. It has been my honor to serve this brand in that span and I am thrilled to have been able to be a member of the teams that ideated and created so many spectacles, moments, memories and miracles. It’s been fulfilling to be part of huge changes that literally shifted culture.

As we go forward, I’m excited by all of our immediate and long term upcoming trajectories.

For you and BET, it’s the opportunities you will mine through your new designation: VIACOM made a wise choice making BET a “Flagship” brand. It’s been proven over and over again that viewers want BET to win and that they believe highly in your ability to do so. We saw that recently with the culture shifting New Edition Story when, with one series, pundits and social media were ablaze proclaiming BET as the best TV producers of biopics. Full Stop. Huh? “Best” after one attempt? Yes. That’s the feeling. That’s the energy of an audience rooting for you. That’s a populace hot for you. Your audience knows that other channels have to study the culture, but BET is the culture…and they respect the difference. I truly wish you the fuel of innovation, execution and support to feed those fire-flames. There is an abundance of talent at BET Networks; each person a spark that can start the blaze of the next success; to again take what is currently unimaginable and set on a path to make it real. It has been my immeasurable joy to work alongside you.

As for me, since I was 16, I haven’t had many workdays of not getting up, getting into it and getting involved. ‘Tis a truly foreign concept. I talk about “time”…well, all of the time ( at least twice a year on email); about its value and to consider how you use time…as a friend or a foe. Right now, I’m choosing friend. I’ma throw my arms around it like I would a long lost buddy and enjoy a bit of what it might offer. I am truly looking forward to some time to just be. There’s much in this world I haven’t experienced that I soon will.

And then, I’ll re-approach the side of the action, sway to and fro while catching the rhythm and jump back into the fast-paced double-dutch of life. However, these same feet that will one day return to churning in time with the ropes will now, for a few moments, have their individual digits sifting sand…not unlike another former President. Check the IG in a little while. Previously unimaginable. About to be wonderfully real.

Thank you Debra Lee for pretty much everything since the day you saw me in the red pants. Your leadership, tenacity, dedication…and style…are appreciated. Your investment in me and support of me from the very beginning has been strong and constant. I treasure it and will pay it forward.

I will miss you all. I will miss this. I will miss us. But I am so excited to see where you next take this powerful, agile, thrusting spacecraft of a brand.

Imagine it and drive well.

iPhone Killer?: Samsung Unveils Shiny New Galaxy S8, S8+ Smartphones [Photos]

http://ift.tt/2mQBeqg

Samsung has a lot to make up for after their debacle with the explosive Galaxy Note 7. Today (March 29), the brand unveiled the Galaxy S8 and S8+, powerful smartphones that hope to up the ante in the mobile phone game.

The Galaxy S8 features outstanding features that hope to break out of rigmarole of smartphones, from all manufactures, looking like the same phone as previous models, over and over again.

The new Galaxy phones sport Infinity Displays the feature smooth surfaces which lack any sharp angles. As usual, Samsung’s camera is still the most advanced you’ll find on a smartphone.

Bixby, which is clearly the answer to Siri, is an “intelligent interface” that Samsung touts as being ultra-intuitive.

Overall the Samsung S8 and S8+ will seamlessly integrate with a portfolio of products that include the Gear VR and Samsung DeX (which flips your phone into a desktop computer). The phones are still water and dust resistance and feature MicroSD support up to 256GB. Also, worth noting, all the Galaxy S8 and S8+ phones will come with AKG earbuds.

All things considered, calling it an iPhone killer isn’t too much of a stretch, no?

Stateside, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will be available in Midnight Black, Orchid Gray and Arctic Silver starting April 21 with pre-orders beginning on March 30.

Check out detailed images of Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ below and on the following pages.

Cam’Ron Goes Live Again, Reveals Why Ma$e Really Became A Pastor [VIDEO]

http://ift.tt/eA8V8J

Cam’Ron hopped on Instagram Live to share his truths about a former friend again. This time is was Ma$e.

While Cam was out doing some luxury shopping and sipping champagne, he began having conversations with his fans and family. What started out as a conversation about how he hates people who ask him for money soon turned into him sharing why he feels Ma$e really retired and became a pastor. After sharing that he was going to start hitting people with “God bless you, Jesus is great” whenever they ask for money, he compared it to$ joining the clergy.

He says he felt Ma$e joined the church to keep people from harassing him [i.e. robbing] him for money. He went on to state that Mase was just 21 years old when he became a multi-millionaire and didn’t know how to handle it. He also said that Ma$e was seeking to escape the violence that was starting to surround him.

In the past, Ma$e said that he actually quit rap because he felt that he had a higher calling and that he did not like where he was leading people with his music.

Cam is no stranger to sharing his testimonies on Instagram Live. Earlier this year he had the internet going nuts when he responded to claims his other former friend Jim Jones made in a Funkmaster Flex interview.

Watch Cam speak on it below at around the five-minute mark.

Sean Spicer Gets Snippy With Black Reporter April Ryan [VIDEO]

http://ift.tt/eA8V8J

Sean Spicer might have the toughest job in the world as the press mouthpiece for President Donald Trump amid a series of negative developments. The White House press secretary threw a bit of a hissy fit when veteran Black reporter April Ryan poked at the troubles surrounding the Trump administration and threw out a bizarre analogy regarding Russia to boot.

CNN reports:

“If the President puts Russian salad dressing on his salad tonight, somehow that’s a Russia connection,” the White House spokesman insisted during a contentious exchange with reporters.

He said every official that’s been briefed on the matter has said there’s no sign of “collusion” between the Trump campaign and Russia.

“At some point … you’re going to have to take ‘no’ for an answer,” he said, at one point during his answer telling a reporter to quit shaking her head.

There was a largely condescending tone to Spicer’s voice when addressing Ryan, who has been one of the more respected White House reporters for some time. The Tuesday verbal clash prompted Hillary Clinton to issue a statement on the matter.

“April Ryan, a respected journalist with unrivaled integrity, was doing her job just this afternoon in the White House press room and she was patronized and cut off trying to ask a question,” Clinton said while speaking at a conference for the Professional Business Women of California (PBWC) on Tuesday night. Ryan, who had a similar strange run-in with President Trump earlier this year, shrugged off the moment with a tweet reading “Lawd!!!’

Ryan is the Washington Bureau Chief for American Urban Radio.

Think Stanger Things, but much more grisly—if the movie doesn’t drop the ball.

Remy Ma Honored As Woman Of The Year At Glitz And Girl Power Awards

http://ift.tt/eA8V8J

After spending seven winters and six summers locked down, Remy Ma’s resurgence in the rap game continues to garner her more well-deserved recognition. The latest acknowledgment came in the form of being named the Woman of The Year at the 2nd Annual Glitz and Girl Power Awards in Miami, Florida.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise as not only has Remy Ma been the hardest model citizen in Hip-Hop culture, but also done what she’s can to empower women while being one of the few females in the game who hasn’t twerked for attention.

For her speech, Remy reminded everyone in the room that when it seems like life caves in on you, that doesn’t mean you should give up.

“Every possible thing that you think can go wrong in your life, it happened to me, and I’m still here… and all of you have that same opportunity.”

Hopefully more of today’s youth will heed her words and become tomorrow’s trailblazers for coming generations.

Congrats, Ma.

Black Women Who Worked At Fox News File Racial Discrimination Suit

http://ift.tt/eA8V8J

Fox News is facing a racial discrimination lawsuit by a pair of Black women who worked in administrative positions at the network. Tichaona Brown and  Tabrese Wright worked in the New York offices of Fox and claim that a supervisor frequently made racist remarks in their presence.

The New York Times reports that Brown, a payroll manager, and Wright, a payroll coordinator, witnessed Fox News’ comptroller Judith Slather who the women said enacted a “top-down racial harassment” stance against them and Black people in general. Fox, already battling claims of sexual harassment from its former chairman, Roger Ailes, the network now has to contend with what could become another high-profile matter.

The Times reports:

The women — Tichaona Brown, a payroll manager, and Tabrese Wright, a payroll coordinator — accused Ms. Slater of making numerous racially charged comments, including suggestions that black men were “women beaters” and that black people wanted to physically harm white people.

They also said that Ms. Slater claimed that black employees mispronounced words, such as “mother,” “father,” “month” and “ask,” and that she urged Ms. Brown to say those words aloud in a meeting. Ms. Wright said Ms. Slater once asked if her three children were all “fathered by the same man.”

“We are confident that the good men and women of the Bronx will hold Fox accountable for what we believe to be its abhorrent racist conduct, reminiscent of the Jim Crow era,” the plaintiffs’ lawyers, Douglas H. Wigdor and Jeanne Christensen of the Wigdor law firm, said in a statement. The firm also represents two employees of The New York Times in a pending federal lawsuit against The Times, alleging age, race and gender discrimination.

Brown and Wright are also suing Fox’s parent company, 21st Century Fox, for not addressing Slater’s alleged comments. Wright, who still works at Fox, was demoted to a lower position according to their suit and Brown was fired on Monday.

Master P’s Biopic Begins Shooting In New Orleans

http://ift.tt/eA8V8J

Master P‘s biopic is set to start shooting this summer in New Orleans.

Percy “Master P” Miller has shared parts of his life story through his music and interviews, but we are finally getting the full scope of his rise in a new biopic.

P announced that he was working on movie about his life two years ago after the success of Straight Outta Compton. Now it looks like it is coming into fruition.

Per release:

The film, King of the South will film primarily in New Orleans. It is important to Percy for the film to have an authentic feel and look. Keeping in the tradition of The N.W.A. story, Notorious, the story of Biggie Smalls, and Tupac’s All Eyez On Me, audience goers will experience the actual neighborhoods Percy grew up in, from his local elementary schools to the Calliope Projects.

The story is very compelling and encouraging. From his very humble beginnings in one of the toughest neighborhoods in the country, The Calliope Projects, to making it on the Forbes top one hundred list. The King of the South will take you on Percy’s journey.

“The timing is right for me to tell my story, it was tough back then especially being from the South, New Orleans was the murder capital at the time. I want others to learn from my mistakes and understand my work ethic of never giving up, no matter what it may look like,” said Miller. “If you believe in yourself, keep your faith in God strong and stay close to your family, you can accomplish anything. Life is about choices, there’s no limit to your success if you work hard.”

The movie will reportedly have Queen Latifah playing young Percy Miller’s mother and former The Wire star Wendell Pierce will have a role in the movie as well.

Latifah’s business partner Shakim Compere adds, “We have so much respect for what P has done in the game, we want to help make sure that his story is told authentically with A-list talent. This is a great role for Queen Latifah, Master P had an amazing story and has broken a lot of barriers in hip hop, paving the way for artists to make real money. King of the South is a real rags-to-riches story where moviegoers will leave the theaters inspired.”

P holding open castings and auditions near his hometown New Orleans and Hollywood. It is preferred that the person playing him be an unknown actor.

CP3 Film Group begins open casting for New Orleans natives on Tuesday, April 4th at 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM in Gretna, Louisiana.

Lamar Odom Breaks Silence On Las Vegas Brothel Night That Almost Killed Him

http://instagr.am/p/BSORHBxj3Lx/media/?size=l

Former two-time NBA All-Star champion Lamar Odom almost died in a brothel two years ago. Now he’s finally opening up about it.

In case you forgot, Odom was found unconscious at the Love Ranch brothel in October 2015 after he reportedly went on a binge of drugs, alcohol, and sex. He was taken to the hospital where he remained in a coma and was put on life support for a week.

He has since recovered from the almost deadly incident and completed rehab. Now, for the first time since that night, Odom is sharing details of what happened. Or at least what he can remember.

In a cover story with Us Weekly, Odom says that the night started with the idea of just getting out the house.

Instagram Photo

“I was home by myself. Bored. I wanted to get out and have a good time,” Odom recalls. “Looking back, I might have had a drink to get the mood started, but was I drunk or on drugs? Not at all. I remember lying in bed. Two women were in bed and then I fell asleep. That’s all. When I woke up four days later, I was trying to pull the tubes out of my mouth.”

The Las Vegas Sherrif’s office did say that Odom did use a small amount of cocaine and took 10 Viagra-like pills that he bought at the ranch. Odom and his representatives continued to deny that claim. Odom does admit that cocaine use did play a role in his eventual divorce from Khloe Kardashian.

“I was hiding it for a while, but then I got frustrated and was like, f**k it,” he said. “Around two years before we split up [in 2011], I was in the man cave [Khloe] had made for me and she caught me. She was disappointed. So was I. The sad thing about it is, I don’t know if I was disappointed because I was actually doing the drug or because she caught me. She knew I was doing cocaine the whole time after that. It was my drug of choice. I’m not going to say she accepted it because that would be the wrong word. Tolerated would be a better word.”
